Play CD Copy & Backup - Alcohol 120% / CloneCD
Using Alcohol 120%
DiabloII and DiabloII LOD are both protected by SecuROM below version 4.8 so you
should use 'SecuROM New' profile in
Alcohol for reading and writing. All settings will be done automatically
choosing the correct profile! You may adjust read and write speed, I would
recommend using slow speed for burning and writing. As far as I know you don't
need any other program like you did for elby's
CloneCD to run it properly. You don't even need the CCD4RegKill for all
version produced of CloneCD produced by SlySoft.
Use alcohol with "securom new" datatype settings (not securom new 4.x/5.x) and
if you want to run the back-up copy from a writer (instead of an ordinary cd/dvd rom),
you must enable Ignore media type in alcohol's emulation options before playing.
This other option is for CloneCD:
Make a backup using these settings:
Read:
both subchannels checked.
Nothing else checked
Write:
Burnproof(if available)
Don't repair subchannel data
Nothing else checked
This will give you a backup that works, except in cd-writers. Because this
protection checks for the ATIP, and then it won't work in CD-Writers because the
writer tells the protection that it's an recorded disc.....and not an original
disc.
Or you may use
clonecd's "Hide CD-R media" function (only available in the newest versions
and not in Japan and US), then you should also be able to play the backup from
your writer.
General five steps
creating
a
successful backup
- First step
identify the used Copy Protection
- No protection found take a look at these
protection lists
cdfreaks,
www.portmac.com,
www.makeabackup.com
- After this check out the guides in the
CD Backup Guides and Tutorials forum for your identified protection, or
just get the
The CD Freaks Offline Help (11MB)
- No tips and ideas at all. Maybe another
member got the same or comparable problem, using the
Search option will clarify this
Notes: Nero wont work when burning Diablo 2 CD's (or so I've heard).
If you have something else, try that first!
